Types of Eyeglass 
Coatings -
  • Anti-reflection (AR) or anti-glare coating - a type of optical coating applied to the surface of lenses and other optical elements to reduce reflection. In typical imaging systems, this improves the efficiency since less light is lost. If glare becomes a problem, consider an anti-reflective coating applied to new eyeglasses. The anti-reflective coating reduces reflections, decrease halos around light, and create a nicer cosmetic appearance.
  • Scratch-resistant coating - protection from scratches
  • Ultraviolet coating - ultraviolet protection.
  • Hydrophobic coating - doesn't let water to stay on the glasses
  • Tinted lense/coating - Sometimes a light or dark hint of color on the eyeglass lens can be beneficial to aid in vision. For example, a yellow tint may increase contrast and a gray tint may not alter color perception with sunglasses. A light tint can also hide the signs of aging around the eyes.
  • Mirror coatings - If you are looking for a purely cosmetic lens that allows the eyes to be hidden from view, then this is the coating for you. Mirror coatings come in a variety of colors such as silver, gold, and blue.

Types of Eyeglass Lenses -
  • Polycarbonate lenses - These eyeglass lenses are impact-resistant and are a good choice for people who regularly participate in sports, work in an environment in which their eyeglasses may be easily scratched or broken, and for children who may easily drop and scratch their eyeglasses. Polycarbonate lenses also provide ultraviolet protection.
  • Trivex lenses - These lenses are made from a newer plastic with similar characteristics of polycarbonate lenses. They are lightweight, thin, and impact-resistant and may result in better vision correction than the polycarbonate lenses for some people (that is, in some prescription number glasses).
  • High index plastic lenses - Designed for people who require strong prescriptions, these eyeglass lenses are lighter and thinner than the standard, thick "coke bottle" lenses that may otherwise be needed.
  • Aspheric lenses - These eyeglass lenses are unlike typical lenses, which are spherical in shape. Aspheric lenses are made up of differing degrees of curvature over its surface, which allows the lens to be thinner and flatter than other lenses. This also creates an eyeglass lens with a much larger usable portion than the standard lens.
  • Photochromic lenses (Transition lenses) - Made from either glass or plastic, these eyeglasses change from clear to tinted when exposed to sunlight, darken on exposure to specific types of light of sufficient intensity, most commonly ultraviolet (UV) radiation. In the absence of activating a light, the lenses return to their clear state. This eliminates the need for prescription sunglasses. These eyeglass lenses may not darken in a car because the windshield could block the ultraviolet rays from the sun.
  • Polarized (Polarizing foil core) lenses - Light reflected from water or any flat surface can cause unwanted blinding glare. Polarized lenses reduce glare in all lighting conditions and are useful for sports and driving. These lenses may cause the liquid crystal displays (LCD's) on the dashboard of cars to appear invisible.
  • Drivewear glasses (for daytime driving only) - It is a combines photochromic and polarization technology. The DriveWear lens is exclusively a daytime lens designed for driving, though can benefit people in other activities such as fishing, sailing or any outdoor activities. It minimizes glare and excess visual light while maximizing useful light information reaching the eyes
  • Nighttime driving glasses (for nighttime driving only) - It is a combination of a clear (Category 0) lens with an anti-glare (= AR = anti reflective) coating and a slight yellow tint as it reduces blue light emitted from oncoming road vehicles.

Clarifying Shampoo -

Clarifying means bringing your hair's pH down to it’s proper acidic value when using a alkaline cleanser. This dual process is damaging to your hair and your scalp, as it forces your hair's pH to go up to 8 or 9 and then go back down to a 4.5 in a very short period of time. This is why so many shampoos on the market advertise on them being pH balanced shampoos. Therefore it is advisable to only use this shampoo 1-2 times per month to get rid of hair product or pollutant build-up.
  • Mix 1-2 cups of warm water with 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. 
  • Apply to your hair in the shower and let it sit for few minutes .
  • Rinse completely.

Dry Shampoo -
  • Use to soak up unwanted hair oils, when you’re short on time.
  • Coconut milk powder/cornmeal/baby powder/baking powder (all will work).
  • Lightly dust your roots with the powder of your choice for an instant matte look which makes the hair look freshly washed. 

Thickening Rinse -
  1. Beer Rinse -
    • Gives your hair bounce and loads of body.
    • First Shampoo and condition your hair.
    • Now take a room temperature hops beer and pour it over your hair.
    • Leave it in for a few minutes and rinse lightly. 
  2. Flour Rinse -
    • Take blended whole oats &/or cornstarch &/or arrowroot powder (¾ tablespoon of each)
    • Mix with the 1 tablespoon baking soda and 1 cup of warm water
    • Add more water to obtain the desired thickness.

Ingredients -
  1. 60ml (1/4 cup) coconut milk (pH lower than 7, thereforce balances hair pH), (homemade is better than canned), (for dilution and additional lathering)
  2. 75ml (1/3 cup) pure aloe vera gel (Optional) (pH lower than 7, thereforce balances hair pH), (if added, the shampoo has a maximum shelf life of 7 days in the freezer) 
  3. 60ml (1/4 cup) distilled water (soft water), (for dilution)
  4. 60ml (1/4 cup) liquid castille soap (unscented) (pH ~ 8.9) (generally made from olive oil &/or other oils and water)
  5. 20 drops of blend of essentiail oils of choice
  6. 6-8 drops of a citrus essential oil (lemon, lime, or sweet orange), (Optional, for controlling oily hair)
  7. Optional, Humectants for moisture (if this shampoo dries your hair)
    • 2 teaspoon honey
    • 2 teaspoon avocado oil
    • 1 tsp safflower oil (add more if you desire)  
    • 1/2 teaspoon melted coconut oil (also adds lubrication)
    • 1/2 teaspoon jojoba, grapeseed, or any other light vegetable oil
    • 1/2 teaspoon olive or almond oil (optional, for dry type of hair)
    • 1 teaspoon vegetable glycerin (also gives the shampoo a little more “body”)

Directions -
  1. Combine all ingredients in an old shampoo bottle, jar or pump soap/foaming dispenser.
  2. Shake well to mix.
  3. Shake vigorously before each use.
  4. Use a teaspoon of the shampoo to wash your hair.
  5. Gently massage into the scalp hair for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Rinse completely.

Notes / Tips -
  1. Hair care is personal and tricky.
  2. This shampoo doesn’t leave hair tangled or oily.
  3. This shampoo on kids hair too.
  4. Prepare and use the shampoo for a maximum shelf life of 30 days.
  5. Try shampooing less often (every other day or 2x/week).
  6. This shampoo is completely safe for all hair types and will not strip your hair of its natural oils.
  7. Do not measure any shampoo's effectiveness by the lather and foam it produces. In regular shampoos it is obtained by chemicals and detergents, which haven't been used in this shampoo, thereby you shall observe lesser lather and foam being produced.
  8. Synthetic products in commercial shampoos and conditioners artificially coat the hair with plastic or protein polymers to make it look and feel undamaged.The more damaged the hair, the more porous it becomes; the more porous the hair, the more it absorbs these polymers.
  9. There is often a “detox” period (of 2-3 weeks or more) where you hair may feel stiff, sticky, oily, heavy, or dry. Give your hair a few weeks to adjust from commercial to natural hair care.
  10. Our scalp, like our skin, has a pH ranging between 4 and 7. When we use a product with a pH higher than 7, our scalp becomes alkaline, too much alkali strips away naturally acidic sebum from our scalp. This sebum fights against dandruff, fungi & bacteria, thus preventing hair loss
  11. Using highly alkaline hair solutions (baking soda, bronners soaps, etc.) weakens the disulfide bonds in our internal hair structures, they only make our hair feel soft and manageable.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoon Bentonite clay
  • 2 tablespoon coconut oil, at room temperature/liquid state
  • ¾ teaspoon unrefined high mineral rock salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 tablespoon distilled water to thin, more as needed
  • 1/4 teaspoon thieves oil or any therapeutic grade essential oil you prefer.
  • 1/50 teaspoon neem powder
  • 1/7 teaspoon clove Essential oil (Optional, very effective against toothache)
  • 1 teaspoon whole ground stevia leaves (Optional, as sweetner)

Directions

  1. In a small glass bowl, blend coconut oil, stevia, salt, baking soda, neem powder and essential oils until well incorporated. 
  2. Now mix in the bentonite clay and slowly add water, 1 tablespoon at a time. 
  3. Once you get a smooth paste you are done.

Notes -  
  1. It is preferred that this toothpaste be stored in a 100% BPA-free and PC-free container.
  2. All ingredients should preferably be natural, unadulterated, organic, pesticide-insecticide free & Non-GMO.
  3.  Do NOT ingest this mixture.
  4.  Do NOT add more ingredients than the recommended amount.  
  5.  Check for any allergies with the ingredients given, particularly with essential oils.
